15th October 2024
This week, 75 boys from across the WAT Family came together for an inspiring Aspire Dance Day at ºÚÁϳԹÏÔÚÏßÓÀ¾Ã Olympus Academy. The event featured three engaging workshops led by professional dance artists from Autin Dance Theatre, Powered by CAN, and Rhythm State Academy. The boys, from both KS2 and KS3, had the opportunity to not only develop their dance skills but also embody the character virtues that ºÚÁϳԹÏÔÚÏßÓÀ¾Ã Academy Trust strives to instil in all students—pride in excellence, respect, responsibility, collaboration, and a spirit of bold innovation.
Throughout the day, these values were on full display as the boys worked together, supported one another, and expressed themselves creatively. This focus on character development, alongside technical skill-building, is central to unlocking personal potential across our Trust.
Cara McLaughlin, WAT Head of Dance and organiser of the event, shared her reflections on the day:
"The energy and enthusiasm from the boys was incredible. Seeing them embrace the workshops with such dedication and teamwork was a real testament to the power of dance in developing both personal and social skills. It’s through nurturing these character virtues that we truly unlock potential."
Aspire Dance Day was a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, form connections with peers from across the Trust, and engage in a memorable and transformative experience. This event is just one example of how WAT continues to provide enriching opportunities that empower students to thrive both academically and personally.
